Rev. Bernard Arde-Acquah and his wife Cynthia celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary ceremony on December, 7th, 2014.
Some prominent ministers of the gospel and entourage of Chiefs and Queen Mothers led by Oblempong Nii Kojo Ababio V (known in private life as Dentist Cofie), the Paramount Chief of the James Town Traditional Area (Ngleshie)of Accra joined the couple in the celebration.
The programme took off with the reaffirmation of the couple’s wedding vows officiated by a cream of seasoned ministers from different denominations.
The couple reaffirmed their vows and the congregation cheered on amidst interludes of hymns and prayers.
The celebrations were fantastic but the icing on the cake was that in recognition of his passion and hardwork towards the social and educational development of the Chorkor area, Oblempong Nii Kojo Ababio V, (Dentist Cofie) Paramount Chief of the James Town Traditional Area (Ngleshie) and his elders, who attended the function, appointed Bernard and his wife as Noryaa Mantse and Manye (Chief and Queen of Development Affairs).
Delivering his address, Oblempong Nii Kojo Ababio V began said that he had known Reverend Bernard from childhood as respectful and well-mannered and had followed his development over the years.
He added that he was proud of his achievements as a man of God as well as his passion and immense contribution to helping the people of his community .
The Chiefs and people of James Town also appreciated the immense support and assistance by Reverend Bernard Arde-Acquah in the community.
focus has been on empowering lives and offering practical solutions to life’s daily challenges in order to fulfill the biblical dominion mandate.
A major emphasis of Reverend Bernard Arde-Acquah’s church, Powerhouse Ministries has been an educational drive as a means of eradicating societal ills and has set up scholarship schemes to help bright but needy students pursue higher educational goals.
Each year at least 20 students, both male and female are given support through the secondary and tertiary levels.
More and more members of the community have taken advantage of the support offered by Reverend Bernard.
Future plans of his ministry include the establishment of a tertiary institution for vocational training.
Other social interventions include yearly health fairs and meal for life including a flagship Read for Life competition that fosters a healthy literary competition among the cluster of schools on the community
The other chiefs and other elders of the royal entourage also testified that Reverend Bernard has led by example and has worked consistently and tirelessly to mentor both members and non-members of his congregation.
They said that Reverend Bernard has been conscious of the plight of the people of his community and has been working hard to alleviate their challenges.
They were therefore exceedingly happy to make him a Chief and compared him to David who God saw fit to make King to help the people of Israel.
Other elders of the entourage also spoke eloquently of their appreciation of Reverend Bernard’s work in the community and mentioned that his has been a remarkable and exemplary life in terms of his commitment to social development of the people of Chorkor.
