The Paramount Chief of Ngleshie Alata 9 (James Town),Nii Kojo Ababio V, has conferred the title “ Noyaano Mantse “ (Chief of Development) on Rev Bernard Ade-Acquah, Head Pastor of Powerhouse Ministries International (PMI), located at Korle Gonno, a suburb of Accra.
According to Nii Ababio,he had carefully monitored the church’s contribution to education and health in Ngleshi as well as its poverty reduction schemes in the area and was impressed with them.
He was particularly struck by the church’s establishment of an information and communications Technology (ICT) centre set up to boost the teaching and learning of the subject.
He said the elders of Ngleshie Alata were partnering the British government to transform the James Fort into an educational establishment to provide education for the youth in the community.
Rev. Ade –Acquah, for his part was full of praise for the chiefs of Ngleshie Alata for recognising his church’s contribution to development in the area. He said besides winning souls for the Christ,churches also had th duty to turn lives around by assisting with their material needs.
According to him, the church through its outreach programmes had affected so many lives. He said the leadership of the church had outlined measures to improve the lives of the people. He said the measures entailed reducing poverty and providing quality health care and education for the youth.
The Head Pastor said the church would also provide vocational and technical education for the youth.
He commended Nii Kojo Ababio V for his leadership qualities and the roles he had played all these years to see Ngleshie develop.
Rev Ade-Aquah hinted that as development chief, he would fall on Nii Ababio for guidance,advice and wisdom in carrying out his duties.
The church presented an amount of money, bottles of treated water and soft drinks to the chief as a token of respect.
