The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyepong says President John Mahama is only  interested in winning the next elections hence the failure of the government to  manage the economy as expected.

[contextly_sidebar id=”i4CLdHLhQ2k5Vh4bH26ayja1aFB7QMoZ”]“Instead of thinking about the future of our next generation, I think they are more concerned about the next election. So if they will tell people sweet things in order to win election, that’s what they will do,” he noted.

The NPP has on several occasions accused the NDC government of poorly managing the affairs the state.

They claim most of the social intervention projects including the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) started by the NPP administration have suffered in recent times because of governments neglect.

They also accuse the NDC government of  corruption and needless borrowing which has increased the debt stock of the nation.

The NPP scribe, Kwabena Adjepong speaking on Eyewitness News, argued that “We don’t need propaganda to run this country” adding that “We are facing serious problem, we have a situation where our national debt has ballooned to 70 billion from 9 billion in a space of 6 years.”

He however advised President Mahama to turn the fortunes of the nation around within the next two remaining years of his government or face the wrath of Ghanaians.

“The president should sit up, he should stop the wastage, and ensure that he changes the direction of the country,” he added.
