Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Kweku Ricketts Hagan has insisted that the people of the Central Region will vote massively for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) should the elections be held today.

“If the election is to be called today, I believe that we have done enough here for the people of Cape Coast and the Central region to retain the NDC in government,” he emphasised.

[contextly_sidebar id=”r8TP0bpQsu4oDySp0UXfSIOqqeXpzTxQ”]Kweku Ricketts Hagan who is also the Member of Parliament for Cape Coast South said this is because government has done enough for the region and listed some ongoing and completed projects, which he said were evidence of the government’s quest to develop the region.

“We really believe that the NDC has done enough but we cannot just be complacent and say we’ve done enough, there is still enough for us to do for our people,” he said.

Mr Hagan who made the statement after inspecting some road projects in his constituency explained that executing development projects for the people in the region is not solely for political expediency or winning elections, he said, “it’s about being able to do things for our people to get them out of poverty and improve their economic lives. So it’s not like we are just doing things just because we want to get votes”

“Here [Central Region] we’ve not got a teaching hospital, we have a stadium for the region which is about to be completed, there is Kotokuraba market which is now ongoing, our roads are being done, a lot of schools have been built here,” he added.
