Help us apprehend escaped robbers- Police

The Ghana Police Service are appealing to the public to provide information that will aid to the apprehension of four armed robbers who escaped after a gun battle with the Police at Weija.

[contextly_sidebar id=”ibauf7vdIrDNa9ZcUIwwZVoaa9DOPKuG”]The robbery which led to the death of a police officer, two robbers and six arrests, took place at Weija at the West Hills mall area at about 12 am on Wednesday 7th January.

The Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, ASP Afia Tenge appealed to the public to be forth coming with information that will lead to the arrest of the four escaped.

“We appeal to the general public to volunteer information to the police and call our crime fighters emergency line which is 18555,” she said.

ASP Afia Tenge therefore urged health facilities and traditional healers to report any case of gunshot wounds to the police adding, “We are calling on health facilities, traditionalist or herbalist, that if anybody come to them with gunshot wounds to immediately should alert the police and they will come for them.”

According to her these four escaped suspects namely Sobolo, Ike, Kofi and King Kong are still in the city with gunshot wounds stating “we suspect that these persons are hiding in and around Ring Road,Ashaiman and everywhere.”

 She assured that the police are still on the lookout for the suspects.

Meanwhile the Police administration has conferred on the late Police Officer, Constable Prince Akatah a posthumous promotion to the position of police corporal.
