medeamaaMedeama Sporting Club have expressed their happiness at their 2-0 victory against Zambian side, Zesco United in the 1/7th stage of the CAF Confederations Cup.

The Yellow and Mauves grabbed their win through goals from Nathaniel Asamoah and Michael Helegbe but had to remain solid after the Zambians triped fighting back after they went down to Asamoah’s goal in the 10th minute.

Ultimately, the Ghanaians won and according to their Public Relations Officer, Ebenezer Aidoo, it was quite satisfying despite the wish for a bigger margin.

“2-0 is a good scoreline even though we wanted to get a lot more.

We will be going to Zambia and we needed the security of a wider margin to help us, but all in all, we are happy with what we got and we are thankful for that”, he said in an interview with Citi Sports right after the match on Sunday.

The return leg takes place on the 28th of March and Medeama are hopeful of progressing because, in Aidoo’s estimation, they have remained solid away from home and that has allowed them to get to this stage of the competition.

“The biggest positive we take into the second leg is that we have found goals away from home in the previous rounds against Panthers and MAS Fez.

We are sure of getting something even if Zesco plans on scoring three goals against us.

We will start getting ready for that match and we will qualify.”
