Ghanaians will enjoy consistent supply of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in 2015, according to the Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC).
[contextly_sidebar id=”hQYrg8AvLJsXUOOyE3TYoHXtQmVm1o4M”]According to the company, it has received appropriate permits from the regulatory authorities to test and increase the production capacity of the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant to “its full 150-mmscfd capacity even as we await VRA’s completion of retrofitting works on two of its four turbines at Aboadze.”
According to a press statement from Ghana Gas, “this will allow Aboadze to successfully off-take the full volume of Lean Gas from Atuabo to power their systems for the production of electricity to meet the nation’s energy needs.”
According to the Ghana Gas Company, they have successfully completed a distribution chain, which will produce 500 tonnes of gas per day to its boost capacity to 75 percent.
Explaining the issue further in an interview with Citi News, the Corporate Communications Manager of the company, Alfred Ogbamey said the move is aimed at meeting the demand for LPG, which has increased over the years.
“This will make Gas readily available because the annual capacity in terms of LPG usage is about 240,000 and we will produce a full capacity and that is about seventy-five percent of this. It means that this will increase our production and it will translate to consistent supply of LPG to consumers.”
