Officials of the Roads and Highway Ministry are meeting authorities at the University of Ghana over reactions that have greeted the University’s decision to collect tolls on campus.

The meeting comes on the back of reports that the Ministry has written to the University to stop collecting the tolls.

On Monday, operatives of national security demolished a structure the University intended using as a toll booth and a security post.

Even though the University expressed disgust at the action, the National Security Coordinator, Lt. Col Gbevlo Lartey defended the demolition saying, a similar action will be repeated if another structure is mounted.

Meanwhile, Authorities at the University will this afternoon address a news conference on the raging debate.
