A man has died after he was run over by a truck on the Accra-Tema motorway on Thursday.

Graphic photos of the accident appear to show the victim lying on the road with his limbs broken.

An eyewitness, William Diego Parker-Benin,  narrating the incident to Citi News, said the accident occurred when the man,who was riding a motorbike with registration number M14GW896 on the Accra-bound side of the road near the abattoir, fell from his bike.

[contextly_sidebar id=”bq0dWC0lLClIyPclkGGEtkLhtzYC04Sv”]According to the eyewitness, a truck, which was right behind him, run over him, killing him instantly.

“Just about 300 meters from the toll both and there was this young man on a motorbike. Apparently he was on his way heading to Accra and then he fell from the motorbike and there was this big truck coming behind him. Unfortunately the truck could not stop and just passed over the guy,” he said

“The guy is dead now. His head is crushed, his limbs are totally broken. It is a very gory scene here. Very very sad,” he added.

This is the second accident to be reported on the Tema Motorway on Christmas day after two people were killed and 13 others were left in critical condition after the bus they were travelling in veered off the road.
