Hundreds of journalists are covering the national delegate’s congress of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) which is being held at the Baba Yara sports stadium in Kumasi.

Martin Asiedu Dartey, one of the journalists at the congress explained to citifmonline.com that “I think the massive media presence is because of the governing party. There is huge interest in who their executives will be and what they will bring to the party.

He said “as media we are the mediator’s between political parties and the populace so we want to ensure that our audience are informed on happenings in the NDC,” adding that “We also want to give them [NDC] fair coverage as we have done to other political parties in the past.”

Another journalist and head of Political News Desk of TV Africa, Kofi Owusu Ansah told citifmonline.com that they are interested in the congress because of the numerous court issues that plagued the party before the congress.

“We want to know whether the party could bury its differences ahead of 2016,” he added.
