Deputy General Secretary aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho has expressed optimism that the party’s delegates will reward his loyalty to the party and the late President John Mills by electing him on Saturday.

He said loyalty is key in every human institution worldwide and since he has stayed true to the party despite the demise of his boss, he will be handsomely rewarded.

Koku Anyidoho once served as the Communications Director at the Presidency until the death of President Mills.

He was conspicuously missing in the party’s activities after the demise of the late President until recently when he announced his intention to contest the Deputy General Secretary position of the NDC.

Speaking on Eyewitness News from the congress grounds at the Baba Yara Sports stadium in Kumasi, Anyidoho said he has been assured by delegates’ of a resounding victory.

“If you walk through the Central Region, the Western Region, they tell me that the way I served President Mills loyally, any position and anyway you want to go, we will support you,” he narrated.

He was certain that the late President will be “happy that after he passed on, I didn’t chicken out of this game and that whatever it is that he has taught me, I am standing strong to lead the battle and the crusade that he started.”

The NDC will on Saturday, December 20 head to the polls to elect new national executives to lead the party into the 2016 general elections.

A total of 3,354 party delegates are expected to cast their vote to choose new executives out of about 98 aspirants.
