Embattled musician Kwaw Kese has failed to secure bail after filing a motion on health grounds.

He was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in the Ashanti region for medical attention after suffering a severe stomach ache in Thursday.

[contextly_sidebar id=”2SQ1bzCvQ4DNSvJPzrIHrRUwajJCtqlL”]According to the prosecution, a report available to them confirms that the substance he allegedly smoked in public was Indian Hemp.

A Kumasi High Court denied him bail earlier today because his lawyers failed to produce a medical report to support their motion.

Kwaw Kese has been remanded in prison custody till December 22, 2014 after being charged with unlawful use of a substance suspected to be marijuana.

He was arrested at a drinking spot close to the popular ‘+2 Pub’ in Nhyiaeso, in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

His arrest has prompted various individuals in the music industry to call for his removal.

Musician Emmanuel Samini popularly known as Samini penned an emotional piece asking for the release of his embattled fellow musician.

Samini requested that Kwaw should be pardoned and steps taken to decriminalize “certain acts including smoking …”
