The Ashanti Regional Secretariat of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has secured over two thousand beds in different hotels for delegates of the party ahead of the December 20, congress.

The party said they have also concluded arrangements with the security agencies to ensure a successful congress.

Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NDC, Raymond Tandoh told Citi News all other requirements for a successful congress have been met.

We have formed the various committees; the security committee, the secretariat, the accreditation committee, the ground committee, the general planning committee and food and water.”

“We have secured about 2,000 beds in hotels in Ashanti Region. We expect everybody to be at the stadium with their accreditation and other things. Accommodation we don’t have any problem. I can tell you we are set and everything is set,” Mr Tandoh added.

About 4,000 delegates are expected to participate in the congress.

Meanwhile, one of the aspirants in the race has dragged the NDC to court.

Emmanuel Aboagye Didieye, Member of Parliament for Afram Plains North, who is vying for the National Organizer slot sued the party claiming he was wrongfully disqualified.

He claims he has enough evidence to prove that some leaders of the party schemed to get him out of the race.

The Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Kofi Adams has however assured that the party will allow Didieye to contest in the party’s congress only if the party loses the court case.

Kofi Adams who was speaking on Eyewitness News said, “If it goes his way what it means is that we are going to have a contest with him as a contestant.”
