The Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams has said that the party will allow Aboagye Didieye to contest in the party’s December 20 congress only if they lose the court case.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Afram Plains North, Aboagye Didieye who is contesting the National Organizer position dragged the party to court claiming he was wrongfully disqualified.

[contextly_sidebar id=”fkaum70jJtVsmQDMYsLeGtI8qEJmsTre”]Mr Didieye in an earlier interview with Citi News insisted that he has evidence that some party members schemed against him.

But speaking on Eyewitness News on Wednesday, Kofi Adams said if the court case “goes his way, what it means is that we are going to have a contest with him as a contestant.”

“That will affect only one position so we can easily print that ballot and if in the wisdom of the judge after all the presentation is that the person was not qualified to contest we will carry on,” he said.

Kofi Adams further allayed fears that the party will postponed its congress because of the court case adding that “I don’t foresee a court action placing an injunction on the congress or action on a shift in date. I hardly will see that happening.”

He said about 4,000 delegates are expected to vote in the congress.

In a related development the leadership of the NDC has expressed readiness to face the MP in court on Monday.
