The Electoral Commission (EC) has set Tuesday, March 3, 2015 to hold the District Assembly and Unit Committee elections.
According to the EC, nominations for the District Assembly Elections will be held on Saturday, December 20 and Sunday, Decmeber 21 from 8:00am to 12:00pm and 1:00pm to 5:00pm each day.

A statement signed by the Deputy Chairman of the EC in charge of operations, Amadu Sulley said interested persons can only contest either the District Assembly Election or the Unit Committee Election but not both elections.
He added that “no fee shall be paid for obtaining the forms or for filing to contest the elections.”
Mr. Sulley however clarified that the elections will not cover electoral areas in the Lower Manya Krobo District in the Eastern Region.
Nomination forms can be obtained at the District Office of the Commission or from the Deputy Returning Officers (Special Duties) in the respective electoral areas.
The Commission has therefore directed that all completed nomination forms should be submitted to the Deputy Returning Officers on the dates set aside as nomination days.
