There is seeming trouble in the camp of the News Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Savelugu constituency in the Northern Region where the Chairman has suspended two elected party officers and dismissed one appointed officer.
The Chairman, Alhassan Ding has suspended the constituency Organizer, Mohammed Hafiz and the constituency Youth Organizer, Abdulai Yakubu Bob.
He has also summarily dismissed the constituency communications officer, Fuseini Safianu.
[contextly_sidebar id=”7OJt1uuWpByT4Y76KOuJt4w5ZCUnN302″]Alhassan Ding’s decision has angered a group calling itself NPP Concerned Polling Station Executives (CPSE) of the Savelugu constituency.
Members of the group who form two thirds of the NPP polling station executives in the area have given the constituency Chairman a one week ultimatum to reinstate the suspended and dismissed party officers.
Spokesperson for the group, Sualisu Ibrahim Basha in a Citi News interview said, “We have given him only one week ultimatum or else we shall start the processes of impeachment because our party’s constitution Article 10 clause (1a) gives us the delegates the right and the power to impeach them.”
“Actually what he is doing we are not in support of that because he has being able to suspend two elected members of the executives and one appointed member of the constituency simply because they have being campaigning for the constituency Organizer to become a Parliamentary candidate of the constituency.”
Sualisu Ibrahim Basha emphasized that they will impeach Alhassan Ding and some of the constituency executives who have endorsed his action.
He further admonished the NPP national leadership to call the constituency Chairman, to order.
