A Deputy Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Anthony Karbo, has called for a probe into claims by the incumbent National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), that the late President John Atta Mills was murdered.

According to the Chronicle Newspaper, Yaw Boateng Gyan has warned that he will not hesitate to descend into the gutter if his opponent in the NDC’s upcoming national delegates’ congress does not desist from tarnishing his image.

Although Mr. Boateng Gyan failed to put out any name(s), he  threatened to reveal secrets which will shock the country.

He is quoted as saying, “I hear my opponent has been going round with a certain tape about my alleged involvement in the World Cup Tournament. I am not worried but people should know that there are so many tapes that we can also play.”

In his case, not only did President Mills not run for the second term but he [President Mills] can’t be found today amongst the living and these are the people we are dealing with” Boateng Gyan alleged.

Speaking on Eyewitness News, Karbo insisted that Mr. Boateng Gyan must be forced to reveal the secrets surrounding the death of the former President since it will satisfy public interest.

“It is important that we need to push him to put out that information because it is a public information,it is going to satisfy  public interest and people like us who are particularly concerned about the circumstances under which our president died.It is not about my business; it is the business of the Ghanaian people. All of us are worried about the situation,” he added.

According to him, if a member of the NDC who worked so closely with the late President is making such allegations, then “it is just proper that the appropriate authorities in this country should quickly zoom in on such a person.”

Karbo was certain that “whatever information the person has will go a long way to help resolve  the mysterious circumstance under which the president died.”
