The Volta River Authority (VRA) will close access roads on the Kpong Dam to both vehicular and motorbike traffic from Wednesday, December 10 to Saturday, December 13, 2014.

According to the VRA, the closure is to enable the contractor working on the retrofit project, Andritz Hydro, remove the intake service gates on one of the generating units for refurbishment.
In a statement signed by the head of corporate communications of VRA, Samuel Fletcher, he said there would be guided pedestrian crossing during the period of the closure.
It further stated that arrangements had been made the critically ill who would be crossing to access health care.
VRA said, it apologize to all stakeholders for the inconvenience.
