Several attempts by the Commission of Inquiry to get former Black Stars midfielder, Sulley Muntari to tell his side of the story regarding his alleged assault on a member of the team’s management committee, Moses Armah have proved futile.

This has compelled the Commission to ignore the AC Milan star and carry on with its recommendation based on the evidence available to it.

Sulley Muntari was sacked from the team camp in Brazil after it was alleged that he assaulted Armah.

He said the commission attempted engaging Muntari on Skype, but he declined the interview, giving a flimsy excuse of not having the skype facility.

According to Graphic Sports, the Commission spoke with Muntari’s father to persuade his son to co-operate after he [Muntari] gave that excuse but that intervention also yielded no result.

Muntari’s father asked the Commission to proceed with its recommendations without Muntari giving his side of the story since it[Commission] is behind time.

The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi who appeared before the Commission in October described in vivid detail what happened between  Muntari and Armah .

He said a press conference that was held by the players in Brazil to address challenges they were facing Brazil turned violent when delays in payment of players’ appearance fees had to be addressed.

Nyantakyi revealed that Muntari launched two separate attacks against Armah Parker, first picking up a chair to club him during the meeting and next flinging a glass bottle at the FA member in a room, later.

“Before we could say jack, he got up from his seat and released one blow. Then the second one was released.  I was surprised. I have never seen this kind of thing before!” he stated.

Kwesi Nyantakyi  said the incident “was a very serious moment for [the FA]”.
