The Anglican Primate of West Africa, Most Reverend Professor Yinkah Sarfo has appealed to Ghanaians to stop politicising the Nayale Ametefeh cocaine saga.
Most Reverend Professor Yinkah Sarfo said politicizing the arrest of Nayale Ametefeh makes the fight against drugs complex.
Speaking at a special thanksgiving service organized by the opposition NPP to thank God for a successful congress on October 18th, Most Reverend Professor Yinkah Sarfo said making the recent saga a political issue is an indictment on the fight against the menace.

Ghanaians cannot be taken for granted all the time by politicians. I always say that Ghana is not for politicians alone.It belongs to all of us. Traditional leaders, workers, farmers, women and children and so on are all stakeholders of anything that concerns this our nation,” the Anglican primate said.
Ruby Appiah, alias Nayele Ametefeh was arrested at the Heathrow Airport in the United Kingdom after about 12 kg of cocaine was found in her luggage.
She has pleaded guilty to charges leveled against her.
A former Minister of Interior, Nana Obiri Boahen recently said government has tarnished its image by failing to put in place tight security measures to ensure the arrest of Nayele Amtefeh at the Kotoka International Airport.
But the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Asiedu Nketsiah in a rebuttal urged critics of the government to rather turn their fire on public servants working at the Kotoka International Airport.
According to him, there is no evidence linking Nayele Ametefe to the NDC or government.
