Alavanyo/Nkonya shooting kills one person

A shooting incident in Alavanyo/Nkonya in the Volta Region has left one person dead and another in a very critical condition.

Citi News Volta Regional Correspondent King Norbert Akpakplie reported that  sporadic shooting in the area left  many residents running for their lives.

[contextly_sidebar id=”zXgEZraHzljqWkEHAf5XuUaaXhQPyB8z”]According to Akpablie, the two were allegedly shot by unknown assailants while they were working on their farms at Alavanyo-Wudidi.

“We were told gunmen opened fire on the two when they were working on their farm. The police ae currently working to unravel the mystery surrounding the incident and are tightlipped about the cause of the tragedy,” he narrated.

He named the deceased person as Yakubu.

Meanwhile, sporadic shooting that occurred between Alavanyo-Kpeme and Nkonya-Nchumuru towns forced a combined team of the police and military  personnel to backtrack while on their way to the murder scene.

King Norbert Akpablie added that the combined team of police and military personnel are currently in the bush looking for the  shooters.

The two towns, Alavanyo and Nkonya have been under curfew following recurrent clashes over a piece of land.

The police is also investigating a shooting incident which happened in the area on November 24.
