Residents of Adabraka will on Tuesday join Citi FM for a massive clean-up exercise at the Adabraka market.

Tuesday’s clean-up exercise forms part of activities to mark the station’s 10th anniversary celebrations.

Citi FM is celebrating 10 years of successful operations and quality programming as a media organization in Ghana.

The station, which started operations with just a few hands has become one of the most preferred radio stations in Ghana.

Employees are already geared up for the clean up exercise and expressed their preparedness to rid the Adabraka market of filth.

Adabraka Market

Speaking to Citi News, the Human Resource Manager of Citi FM, Jennifer Nsiah said “ I am so ready, I have my working gear, …Zoomlion is going to be there, its going to be a wonderful time because we are helping clean the city”

Another employee; Michael , who spoke to Cti News, said “I am very prepared because our organization is ten years now…we have to show this appreciation to market women so they will know we are celebrating something.”

“I will do my best. I will make sure that I sweep the market, clean the gutters….,”David, another Citi FM employee said.

Speaking to Citi News, the acting Head of Programmes, Philip Ashon said the exercise will give Citi FM an opportunity to fulfill its corporate social responsibility.

“It is an absolute pleasure for us. We have been in the Adabraka community for past ten years and the Adabraka community has accepted and we have also accepted them.

“The Adabraka market is one of the key areas and it serves as sort of a hub for the rest of the community and so we feel that if there is a need at all in Adabraka, it will be one of hygiene and as the rest of the country is aware, there is currently an ongoing national clean up exercise and we felt that we would tap into that major resource and that national activity to also do something for the community we work in.”
