Supporters of Paul Afoko, an aspirant for the National Chairmanship position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), say they are unfazed by attempts by some party members to frustrate his efforts to win.

Mr. Afoko, whose vetting was suspended after a petition was filed against his candidature, issued a statement expressing concerns over a seeming plot in the party to discourage him.

Speaking to Citi News, spokesperson for Mr. Afoko, Alhaji Boniface Abubakar Siddque stated that people are judging Mr. Afoko “out of context” while a “whole lot of stories “are being told about him.”

He disclosed that people are pretending “to know Paul Afoko but Paul Afoko is a neat man, very decent, well mannered but I am not surprised about what is happening to Paul.”

Alhaji Siddque expressed optimism that Mr. Afoko will emerge victorious despite the setbacks.
