The Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho, has ordered an immediate investigation into the inconsistent supply of power to the House which has resulted in several power cuts in recent times.

The frequent power outages have disrupted proceedings on the floor of the house leading to the suspensions of sittings.

[contextly_sidebar id=”jjbOPiEnUmAKRVjtdNTGXmIIrDGuVHBG”]Citi News’ parliamentary correspondent, Richard Dela Sky, reported that the Speaker, on Thursday, directed that some members of Parliament investigate the issue after the lights went off during the sitting .

“Today, shortly after the House began sitting, it had to be suspended for the power to be restored before they came back in to the house. And while business was going on the power went off again and this provoked the MP for Sekondi  to call on the Speaker to direct for investigations on the issue,” he said.

According to Richard Sky, Mr. Adjaho directed the MPs to report their findings to the House next Tuesday.
