The General overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Pastor Dr Mensah Otabil says prayers alone will not save Ghana’s economic crisis.
In a sermon to his congregation on the “Power of vision” on Sunday, Dr. Otabil said only a clear cut plan can move a country from third world to a developed one.
“Every nation that has moved from third world to developed world had a clear plan. It didn’t hope that things will happen,” he said.
He stressed that all night prayers for a buoyant economy will not suffice if there is no vision because according to him, successful nations “did not have all night meetings for the change of the economy; they planned for change of economy.”
Ghana in recent times has been faced with a series of economic challenges coupled with the depreciation of the Ghana cedi against other major trading currencies.
Some pastors have reportedly prayed against the free fall of the cedi while some others have admonished Ghanaians to pray for the country’s ailing economy.
But the ICGC overseer advised it is time to “stop having all night meetings for the change of the economy. It is time to plan to work hard to be focused.”
According to him, the country’s economic challenges can only be fixed if a country has a clear vision and plan and explained that persons who have made dramatic and sustained progress in life had a plan.”
He maintained that “things don’t just happen in life.”
