A Liberian Flagged ship, MT Masters Force II, has been released from the Tema Harbour to set sail.

This was after its owners paid part of debt owed to Ghanaian companies which worked on MT Olivia, its sister ship.

A Tema high Court had ordered the detention of the ship, following an application made by Electronic Marine Service, Marinemor Consult, Sahara Global Ghana Limited and ECI marine Ghana Limited.

Owners of the ship owe the Ghanaian companies $344,528 out of which $222,000 has been paid.

In a consented judgement reached on November 7, it was agreed that the Ghanaian companies shall be paid the outstanding balance on or before December 16th 2014.

The 101.6-metre long oil product tanker, was arrested on the orders of the court on 31 July, Mr Mathias Kwasi Yakah, Counsel for the Ghanaian companies, disclosed to the Ghana News Agency.
