Love, they say, always finds a way. For Bismark Atimbiok and Portia Osei Bonsu, love indeed found a way of locating them, keeping them together and now, would tie them together, happily ever after.
On November 22, the army officer and his bride will be married after seven years of friendship and courtship.
Their relationship has matured over the years through a combination of “diligence, patience and mutual respect,” according to Mr. Atimbiok.
Sharing the story of their relationship and what makes them unique, Portia and Bismark revealed that; “Ours have been a blend of love, tears, respect, fun and so on, but what makes our relationship unique is our ability to resolve every challenge we are faced with.”
“We have a lot in common despite the fact that we come from different backgrounds, we understand each other. We agree to work on changing things for the sake of the other’s happiness, but we do not lose ourselves in the process. In the past 7 years, we have never screamed or yelled at each other,” he revealed.
“Like the saying goes, “Love is not an emotion; it’s a decision….” that is what we have decided on, to resolve every challenge together, forever,” he added.
The couple decided to get married in 2014 but was not sure how they were going to pull it off.
According to Bismark, they (the couple) always dreamed of an amazing marriage ceremony.
“We believe in each other and we’ve supported each other to come this far,” Portia noted in an interview.
The couple intimated that when they heard of the Citi FM Fabulous Wedding promotion, they knew their dreams had come true. They sent in an entry hoping to win.
They made it to grand finale with four other would-be-couples and competed.
“It’s amazing the kind of package we’ve won. Citi Fm has stayed true to their promise and everything is building up smoothly. We just can’t wait for our big day on the 22nd of November,” Portia said after they won.
Citi FM will fully sponsor the wedding reception and an all-expense paid honeymoon package at the plush Royal Senchi Hotel.
On the 22nd of November, the two will be joined in holy matrimony.
