The President, John Dramani Mahama has returned home from an official visit to the Vatican in Italy.
Upon arrival at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra, he was met by the Vice-President, Kwesi Ammisah-Arthur, the Chief of Staff, Prosper Bani and other government officials and service commanders.
During his visit, he held talks with Pope Francis, the Head of the Catholic Church.
The President late met with Ghana’s Peter Cardinal Appiah Turkson who is the Head of the Pontifical Council for Peace and Security, the Cardinal Secretary of State, Pietro Parolin, and Archbishop Dominique Mamberti, Secretary for Relations with States.
He was accompanied by his wife, Lordina Mahama and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hannah Tetteh.
