A group calling itself concerned National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth in the Greater Accra region has accused the Regional  Chairman of the party, Ade Coker of  misappropriating GHc5,000 meant for party work.

The group further alleged that about Ghc3,000 out of the said money was used by Ade Coker to purchase motorbikes.

Daniel  Asai speaking on the Eyewitness News on Wednesday revealed that some monies were released to each constituency in the Greater Accra region for specific exercises in the party but Ade Coker rather misused the money.

[contextly_sidebar id=”e7h8etm2OiwPJTtWJWroCUqcxLxyH5KL”]“The chairman cannot stand alone and say he wants to buy motorbikes not knowing the needs for these constituencies,” he insisted.

Meanwhile,  the Acting Greater Accra Regional organizer of  the NDC Anthony Nukpenu has rejected the accusations,  the constituencies have all received their monies  fully in cash and in kind through logistical support.

According to him administrative party activities are not accomplished within a day and executives in the party take decisions and implement them to the fullest.

“We are in a delicate era in which we have two days to our conference, but people have been planted to throw out these kind of false rumors that will show the party to be disunitied,” he added.

On the alleged GHc3,000 used for motorbikes, Mr Nukpenu said such amount cannot buy even five motorbikes adding that “in the 2012 election no constituency received less than five motorbikes for party works.”

He however cautioned such groups to be mindful of what they say.
