The General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has incurred the wrath of the supporters of an aspiring NDC Northern Regional Organizer, Godfred A. Wumbei, alias yellow man.

Godfred A. Wumbei was elected as the Northern Regional NDC Organizer at the party’s regional congress recently held in Tamale.

But his fate is hanging in the balance because the General Secretary of the party has declared the regional Organizer position results null and void.

[contextly_sidebar id=”K4FN3EGU2D3qwNblMerVT4X2pFvDt4M0″]His decision was informed by a petition filed one of the defeated NDC regional Organizer aspirants, Mohammed Abukari Mumuni challenging the 196 votes secured by Godfred A. Wumbei.

Mohammed Abukari Mumuni argued that his name was wrongly spelt on the ballot paper.

Meanwhile, the regional Secretary and Treasurer elections were suspended because of an impending court injunction.

It is undecided whether the regional Organizer position will be re-conducted alongside the regional Secretary and Treasurer Elections after the legal tussle.

Supporters of Godfred A. Wumbei are threatening mayhem if the NDC General Secretary does not immediately rectify the anomaly.

But Godfred A. Wumbei is calling for calm. “I am appealing to all my supporters and all the delegates who voted for me to also stay calm and have patience because is God who ordains a leader.”

He remarked, “I still have hope that God willing if they are to re-conduct the election I am going to win by 95%.”
