The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Northern Regional secretariat has called for thorough investigations into the alleged financial misappropriation of funds at the National Youth Authority (NYA).

There is a standoff in the media between the Acting NYA national Coordinator, Ras Mubarak and the NYA’s Director of Finance, Amidu Abdulai over the disbursement of GHC215, 100 meant for the Youth Leadership and training Institutes (YLSTIs).

[contextly_sidebar id=”Y6YSRwExd8rGjmaY1IT3nKVqdX5nre2W”]The Acting NYA national Coordinator has denied the allegation but the NYA Director of Finance maintained that Ras Mubarak forged some documents and presented to the Bank of Ghana for GHC215, 100 cedis.

This necessitated the NPP Northern Regional secretariat’s demand for forensic audit into the NYA accounts.

The party’s regional Secretary, Sule Salifu admonished government to ask Ras Mubarak to step aside for meticulous investigations to take place.

“We are shocked about Ras Mubarak’s conduct which we describe as a criminal act and calls for his interdiction and to allow serious investigations and intensive auditing of the finances of the NYA.”

Sule Salifu challenged President John Mahama to double his steps in fighting corruption.

“We are of the view that the NYA requires a major shake up to remove all bottlenecks hindering the progress of the only opportunity available for youth development under the John Mahama led administration.
