Yet-to-be unveiled Ghana coach Avram Grant is glad to have been given the opportunity to coach one of the “best football nations” on the African continent.
The former Chelsea, Portsmouth, West Ham and Partizan Belgrade manager has agreed in principle to coach the four-time African champions and will have to agree on financial terms.
“It is a great honour to be given the nod to handle arguably the best soccer nation on the continent. I am very delighted with this opportunity and I will do my best to move the Black Stars forward,” Grant told Footballmadeinghana.
“I already know and monitor almost all the Ghanaian players playing abroad and I also know some of them playing in the local league so it will never be a problem.”
The 59-year-old Israeli led Chelsea to the Champions League finals in 2008 and also masterminded Portsmouth FA Cup finals berth in 2010.
