The Ashanti Regional police command have arrested a suspected armed robber, Kelvin Adjei for allegedly robbing  a resident of Kumasi and also sexually assaulting her daughter.

The suspect is alleged to have inserted his fingers into the private part of a 14-year old girl before fleeing with his booty.

Citi News’ Ashanti Regional correspondent, Hawa Iddrisu reported that the Deputy Ashanti Regional police commander, ACP Ampofo Duku told the press that about 3am on August 11, 2014, the complainant was in her room at Gyinase, a suburb in Kumasi with her three children when she heard a noise.

Hawa Iddrisu said according to the police commander, the suspect, Kelvin Adjei together with two other accomplices, currently at large, all armed with locally manufactured pistols ordered her [complainant] to surrender all monies in the house.

ACP Ampofo added that  the suspect again asked the complainant to strip naked with her 14-year-old daughter and inserted his finger in the private part of her daughter for a while before bolting away with the booty.

Kelvin Adjei is however being prepared for court while the police continues with their search of the other two accomplices.
