The Ghana Book Publishers association, is calling on government to fully support the publishing industries in order  to help boost the nations economy.

The President, Dr Samuel Osafo Acquaah,  says government should not only make policies but also put the policies into action by providing an enabling environment for business and support for capacity building into the country’s population.

He was speaking at the official opening of the 12th Ghana international book fair with the theme E-Books: a new tool for promoting literacy and global development.

According to Mr Acquaah this year’s fair was organised  to give opportunity to publishers, printers and experts in the book publishing business to discuss challenges and prospects for growth in the industry and the implications for the national development.

Also this year’s fair was used to introduce the E-Book system which is an electronic version of reading printed books online.
