Founder of Action Chapel International, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, has expressed fears about a possible political uprising in Ghana before the end of 2016.
He said there could be “some uprising and I think we have to really watch our political parties and the way they handle things and putting people in office and how they come into power and everything.”
Speaking on Accra based radio station Joy on leadership, the Archbishop intimated that “one of the things that I am very concerned about is the youth of this country like what happened in Tunisia, in Egypt and so we should be very careful that we don’t get to a point where the youth of this country get to a point where they lose confidence in our political parties and our political system.”
Asked whether he meant the uprising could be likened to the current Burkina Faso situation, he answered in the affirmative.

It will be the youth that will rise up and take to the streets one day like what is happening in Hong Kong and it will bring everything to a standstill. And you can’t vote, they will rebel against everything,” he said.
He indicated that he is currently organizing series of talk programmes for the youth in various educational institutions across the country to encourage them to desist from any form of acts that could breed violence in the country.
According to him, from God’s point of view, there are great things in store for Ghana but cautioned that “we shouldn’t also under estimate the power of evil. Satan also has an agenda for this country.”
“If we ignore it between now and 2016, there might be some very interesting times ahead of us, some strange happenings that can be avoided like what is happening in other countries around us,” he opined.
He added that “as spiritual leaders, political leaders we have to be very careful what we do, how we handle ourselves, how we manage things because the decision we make today determines tomorrow.”
He insisted that if strategic prayers and measures are not adopted to reverse the situation on time, it could affect the future of the country.
He however cautioned President John Dramani Mahama to be circumspect of the people that work with him in his government and urged him to appoint achievers and not just political gymnasts.
Duncan-Williams had earlier predicted that the deadly Ebola virus had targeted Ghana.
