26 out of 28 universal banks in Ghana will be competing for honors in the 13th edition of the Ghana Banking Awards tomorrow 1st November,2014.
The Awards are based on the publicly available financial statements published by the banks.
It is also based on a survey of the views and opinions of customers as users of the services of the banks.
The 26 banks to be awarded are banks that published their financial statements for the year ended 31st December 2013.
This year, 15 award categories have been identified to include Customer Care, Advisory Services, Trade Finance, and Trade Deal of the Year, Long-Term Loan Finance, Household Finance and Enterprise Finance.
Citi Business News has learnt that the Most Active E-zwich Bank award, which is a new introduction, is to get banks to be active into using the E – zwich card.
Chairman of the Award Planning Board of the Ghana Banking Awards Nana Otuo Acheampong tells Citi Business News ‘We are assessing 26 banks this year because the other two joined this year. This year we are assessing all the banks for the first time. The E-Zwich bank award was introduced by the regulator, the rationale is to encourage a cash free society’.
