Burkina Faso in flames: What Africans are saying
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

Protesters have set fire to Burkina Faso’s parliament over plans to extend President Blaise Compaore’s 27-year-rule.

Members of Parliament had to suspend a vote on changing the constitution to allow Mr Compaore to stand for re-election next year.

Mr Compaore first took power in a coup in 1987, and has won four disputed elections since then.

The opposition has called for a campaign of civil disobedience to demand that he steps down in elections next year.

Africans and other nationals have taken to social media to express support for Burkinabes.

Below are some tweets from all over the world.
