The Ghana Civil aviation Authority (GCAA) has dismissed reports that Starbow has been allowed to resume flight operations after being grounded yesterday.
There are reports that the airline was allowed to resume flight operations this morning.
The airline was grounded yesterday after a near fatal incident the day before resulting from a hydraulic failure.
Two persons were injured following the incident.
According to the GCAA Starbow started operations with four aircrafts but as at the time of the incident only two were operating.
Acting Deputy Director General of GCAA Martey Boye Atoklo speaking to Citi Business News said they are carrying several checks to ensure Starbow’s aircrafts are all safe to fly since they of the same make.
He adds that Starbow will be allowed to fly if it had other aircrafts of a different make.
‘Starbow started with four aircrafts, British aero space 146 series aircraft one has been scraped, the second one had engine problems and is on the ground, the third one is what had the hydraulic problems this Tuesday. We are seeing some trend and because of that we have grounded the fourth one even though it has got a valid air worthiness certificate. We want to look at the air worthiness of this one and the hydraulic with other things before we lease it for line operations. Starbow did not operate any flight yesterday because we grounded it by 2pm yesterday and no domestic air flight operates in the evening in this country.’
