Chiefs in the Upper West Region were outraged by the behaviour of the Regional Minister, Alhaji Amidu Sulemana who left them waiting for him for more than three hours.
The Minister was expected to speak at the Peoples Forum which was held at the GNAT hall in Wa on Thursday.
[contextly_sidebar id=”8La7SQ0A2rfC4SjFpYZzqF5QUFR9OVGv”]The Chiefs were even angered because the Minister failed to apologize to them, or offer any explanations for his lateness when he finally showed up.
They had earlier threatened to walk out of the programme over the long wait.
The Peoples Forum provides government officials an opportunity to tell members of the communities about development projects in their various communities.
It is also a platform for the citizens to ask duty bearers questions about developments in their communities.
The Minister eventually turned up, but proceeded to give his speech and walked to his seat among the dignitaries without any apologies.
Some of the Chiefs who spoke to Citi FM’s reporter Latif Mahama at the event, described the Minister’s behavior as “disrespectful.”
Some Ghanainans have complained about the tardiness of government officials.
Guests are usually kept waiting for hours for officials to arrive before programs begin.
