The National House of Chiefs (NHC), has appealed to members of the striking Labour Unions, to return to work, while their executives dialogue with government, to resolve the impasse over the second tier pension scheme.
The House encouraged the parties to engage in negotiation and dialogue to find a common ground.

Essien, the chiefs expressed worry about the cost of the industrial action, noting that “the effect and impact of the strike on the Ghanaian cannot be quantified, as schools, hospitals and other public sector institutions have come to a standstill.”
It said it, however, found it reassuring the promise of full disclosure of the operations scheme made by the Employment and Labour Relations Minister.
It counseled the parties should hold open discussions to bring permanent a closure to the matter.
Twelve public sector labour unions across the country last week declared a strike action to protest against government’s decision to manage their second tier pension funds – a decision, they insist is a breach of the pension law.
Government has however sued the labour unions with a view of compelling them to rescind their decision.
