Pressure group of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) called Gbewaa youth is threatening to fight back two chiefs who are allegedly planning to lock up the office of the Tamale Metropolitan Chief Executive.

Intelligence reports picked up by Citi News indicated that security operatives in the Tamale Metropolis are on a high alert to avert any possible bloody clashes.

Members of the Gbewaa Youth are accusing Gulkpegu-Naa and the chief of Nyankpala of attempting to usurp the powers of the Tamale MCE, Abdul Hanan Gundado.

[contextly_sidebar id=”q3S7QuGxpkDSlrX56Oou3cQfRjBu2xqu”]According to the group’s Spokesperson, Mohammed Sisudeen, the Gulkpegu-Naa, Alhaji Abdulai Alhassan and Nyankpal-lana, Yakubu have failed in their attempt to coerce President John Dramani Mahama to sack the Tamale MCE, Abdul Hanan Gundado, hence their alleged threat to forcefully evict him.

“We are reliably informed that two chiefs in Tamale and Nyankpala have asked the President, John Dramani Mahama to remove from office the Tamale Metropolitan Chief Executive, Abdul Hanan Gundado and the Minister of Employment and Labour Relations Harunah Iddrisu.”

He said the group will resist any attempt by the Gulkpegu-Naa and the Nyankpal-lana chief to frustrate the Tamale MCE who the group has described as an achiever.

“The Gbewaa Youth of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is embarrassed by the reasons advanced by the chiefs who are expected to properly conduct themselves in a truthful manner as revered leaders of the society.”

“We want to state that the reasons are total fabrications aimed at maligning the good persons of Harunah Iddrisu and Abdul Hanan Gundado.”

Mohammed Sisudeen therefore advised President John Mahama to snub traditional rulers from the north who are making attempts to malign some of his appointees.

He chastised the two chiefs for allegedly trying to destroy the hard-won reputation of the Minister for Employment Labour Relations, Harunah Iddrisu.

He condemned the Tamale Central Member of Parliament who doubles as Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Inusah Fuseini for allegedly sponsoring the two chiefs to damage Hon. Harunah Iddrisu and Abdul Hanan Gundado.
