Bernardino Koku Avle, host of the Citi Breakfast Show – the CIMG Radio Programme of the year 2013, has been invited to the United States of America for the Murrow Program.
The U.S. Department of State’s Edward R. Murrow Program for Journalists brings more than 75 international print, broadcast, and digital media journalists to the United States each year to share journalistic practices, examine foreign affairs reporting, and build networks with media professionals in the United States.
The program is an innovative public-private partnership between the Department of State and several top U.S. schools of journalism.

The three week Murrow program for journalists will enable the journalists examine the rights and responsibilities of a free press in a democracy and observe operational practices, standards and institutions of the media in the United States.
The participating journalists shall also gain insight into the social, economic and political structures of the United States and participate in professional development seminars and an international symposium highlighting current trends trends and challenges in the media profession.
Bernard is one of Africa’s finest broadcasters and is expected to add to his knowledge of current trends in the media profession, including alternative media and new technologies.
He attended the Murrow Program after participating in the Global Africa Investment Summit which came off in London from October 20 to 23.
Bernard was one of the session moderators at the Global Africa Investment Summit.
