The National Peace Council (NPC) has made a passionate appeal to Media practitioners in the country to be circumspect in their reportage on conflict issues to promote and sustain national unity.

Director of Conflict Resolution and Management of the NPC, George Amoh observed that mass media plays an essential role in conflict management because of its powerful influence.

Mr. Amoh advocated for journalists to be equipped with the necessary skill on conflicts issues and resolution to contribute to peace building.

He said journalists should be minded of people’s emotions and sensibilities in conflict areas and that media reports could either calm or inflame passions.
