Defeated New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Alan Kyeremanten has told the party’s flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo that he is ready to help him win the 2016 elections.
Alan Kyeremanten said this when he visited Nana Akufo-Addo at his residence in Accra to congratulate him for his election as the flagbearer of the party.
“The contest was not about Alan, Nana Addo or Addai Nimoh. It was a contest to look for the candidate who can beat the NDC. I am here just to reiterate that point i made on Saturday that, I will support you with my team to ensure victory in 2016,” Alan said.
Nana Akufo-Addo beat Alan Kyeremanten and Francis Addai Nimoh to the slot, raking in over 94% of the total votes cast.
On Monday, Addai Nimoh also visited Nana Addo on a similar mission.
The Spokesperson for Alan Kyeremanten, Nana Ohene Ntow had earlier cast doubts over Nana Addo’s ability to become president and even threatened to release damaging secret audio recordings of top party chiefs who shared his sentiments.
He made this statement on Eyewitness News in the heat of the campaigning ahead of the party’s elections.
He said he has tape recordings of some national executives and other leading NPP members who have publicly declared their support for two-time presidential candidate, Nana Addo.
But when Nana Addo received Mr. Kyeremanten and his team, he said: “Anybody who knows the two of us will know that we go way back. There is no problem working with you, we have done this in the past and we will work again in future.”
Ohene Ntow, who is also the spokesperson for Nana Addo’s closest contender, Alan Kyeremanten, served notice that he had evidence to back his claims.
