A defeated New Patriotic Party(NPP) Presidential Aspirant, Francis Addae Nimoh has expressed willingness to join Nana Akufo- Addo in his campaign to win the 2016 general elections.

Speaking to Citi News after paying a visit to Nana Addo at his private residence in Accra, Mr. Addae Nimoh said he can work with Nana Addo to ensure that he becomes President of Ghana.

“There is one common purpose for all of us and that is to secure power in 2016 ,so any role, any quality that I have, that I can bring to bare on the party for success in 2016, that is what I’m looking up to…” he said.

ADDAI AND NANA ADDO

Before the party’s national delegates congress to elect a flagbearer, some of the party’s heavy weights impressed on Addai Nimoh and Alan Kyeremanten to step down and allow Nana Addo to contest unopposed but he refused, and insisted he could win the flagbearership slot.

[contextly_sidebar id=”JM3fXJ4q1FkcLe7mFmGS0IbL8pJ7xhSU”]Nana Addo on Saturday eased to victory with 94.35% of the votes cast, while his closest contender Alan Kyeremanten received 4.75%.

Addai Nimoh on the other hand obtained a paltry 0.91% of the votes.

Mr. Nimoh is however optimistic that his experience can help Nana Addo to bring the NPP back into government.

“…I took the opportunity to come to his residence to reaffirm my unflinching support to him and to the party in general,” he added.

Nana Addo on his part thanked Mr. Addae Nimoh for his reposing confidence in him.

“I’m grateful for this visit, thank you very much. I think that this is the spirit and values of our party. Competition, after the competition, cooperation and working together…”

Francis Addai Nimoh ahead of the elections, asked for more time to campaign to since the frame renders him ineffective for any meaningful campaign to convince delegates.

“We have only 48 days remaining for the main election to be conducted and we think that that period is inadequate for over 140,000 delegates to be interacted with by the aspirants in the 275 constituencies nationwide,” he remarked.
