New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Alan Kyeremanten has sought to justify why the party’s delegates should choose him as a flagbearer on Saturday, claiming that Ghanaians would prefer him as president, to his opponent, Nana Akufo Addo.

Addressing delegates in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, Alan Kyeremanten was optimistic the NPP will win the 2016 elections if the party elects him as their flagbearer.

“If you ask Ghanaians, they will tell you that if the NPP brings Alan Kyeremanten, we will vote for him. So delegates, if Ghanaians are saying that, then lets choose Alan so the party can win the 2016 elections.”

He was addressing party supporters and delegates in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region where he wrapped up his nation-wide campaign.

[contextly_sidebar id=”80x5JJhgXaCrIeZROskVdFG8Or0h4AXG”]Mr. Kyeremanteng said it is time for the party to sacrifice its interest and elect him as the flagbearer since he also sacrificed his interests for the party’s sake in 2007 to ensure that peace prevailed.

The man, popularly known as “Alan Cash” asked party faithfuls to unite to ensure a resounding victory in 2016.

“If we[NPP] want to come to power in 2016, we need unity.”

Alan also promised to institutionalise a monthly salary reward for the party’s constituency and regional executives if they vote him as leader of the party.

This is not the first time the flagbearer hopeful has promised goodies for candidates who will vote for him in the upcoming elections.

Alan Kyerematen made similar promises while addressing delegates in the  Volta Region.

“This time, if you make Alan your flagbearer, I will ensure that every executive, from polling station to coordinator to constituency will have the means of transport either bicycle or motorbike,” he told teeming party members.
