We have noted with concern, a publication on citifmonline.com on Sunday October 12, 2014 and sourced by several media houses with the above caption on an alleged incident involving one David Boakye, a delegate of the NPP and Nana Ohene Ntow of the Alan Kyeremanten Campaign team.

The original story claimed in paragraph five that there was an incident involving the two gentlemen and that it took the National Chairman Paul Afoko and other executives to calm them down.

We wish to state the following for the avoidance of doubt and to set the records straight.

1. The National Chairman was not at the meeting under reference. He has not been in any meeting of any of the presidential candidate hopeful. In fact the National Chairman was out of the country from Friday October 10, 2014 to Sunday October 12, 2014. He could therefore not have played any role in calming down people as the citi fm regional correspondent was originally reported to have said.

2. We notice that the original story has been amended by deleting portions of paragraph five that talked about the National Chairman, maybe because citifmonline has realized the factual inaccuracy, we however are worried that the mischief already caused by the original nonfactual story, which has been greatly sourced by other media houses, has not been cured. We therefore in exercise of the right of rejoinder demand that this rejoinder be given similar prominence as the original story.

3. The Chairman wishes to assure all party faithful that He remains committed to his stated neutrality in this and all internal elections, focusing on building a strong party, which is able to deliver political victory with ourpresidential and parliamentary candidates.

The Chairman and the entire party remain committed to free speech and media empowerment but we urge greater circumspection on the part of fourth realm of the estate.

-Signed-
