Some supporters of New Patriotic Party flagbearer hopeful Nana Akufo-Addo, reportedly beat up a member of the campaign team of his opponent, Alan Kyeremanteng at the studios of Adars FM in Kintampo in the Brong Ahafo region on Saturday.

The victim, Nana Adu, who is a Communication Director of Alan Kyeremanteng in the area, is said to have reportedly gone against the party’s rules and thrown his weight behind Mr. Kyeremanteng.

He was attacked by known supporters of Nana Addo when he appeared as a panel member on a news review programme on Adars FM  to speak for his candidate.

The Police rescued Nana Adu and prevented him from being lynched by the youth who were waiting on the premises of the FM station.

In a related development, a group calling itself Volunteers for Nana Addo in the region is calling on the rank and file of the party to cease fire and allow all the candidates and their supporters to campaign without hindrances and intimidation.

According to their founder Lord Zico, “such occurrences would send wrong signals about the party to the electorates” and are therefore urging them to halt the bickering.
