SA: Congregants eat flowers for “healing”

Members of a church in South Africa, Rabboni Centre Ministries ate flowers, which had been used as decorations for the church’s Sunday Service, in order to be healed from their ailments.

A woman in the congregation, who, according to the church led by Pastor Lesego Daniel, was “under the influence of the Holy Spirit,” got out of  her seat mid-service, started munching on the flowers and was promptly followed by other members of the congregation who were also under the influence.

The pastor then declared that everyone who ate the flowers would be healed from “any sickness or demon” that was inside them.

A member of the congregation, Maria Kukutje, 42, claimed she had been healed of pains in the left side of her body after eating the flowers.

Pastor Lesego Daniel and his church attracted attention earlier this year after he directed members of his congregation ton eat grass in order to ‘be closer’ to God.

Photos taken at the event appear to show show several people getting sick, presumably after eating the grass.

Pastor Lesego’s methods have drawn lots of criticism from numerous people who say they are dangerous and put the lives of the members of his congregation at risk.

In September, he made some of his church members drink a liquid believed to be petrol after claiming he miraculously turned it into pineapple juice.

However, people have jumped to his defence with one member confronting someone who had described it as “complete nonsense”

“I also ate flowers. At least this ‘complete nonsense’ is well understood by us who are at the Top of Mount Zion. You won’t understand the goings-on at the top if you are stagnant at bottom of the Mountain. You see? Come and you’ll understand,”he said.
