The Kumasi Mayor, Kojo Bonsu has sued two members of the assembly, Maxwell Ofosu Boateng and Philip Addae for slanderous comments made against him.

The Spokesperson for the mayor, Sammy Gyamfi who spoke to Citi News said his lawyers have served the two with the writ of summons for accusing the mayor of misappropriating funds generated from the Kejetia bus terminal

“We believe that their statements were libelous and slanderous in nature so we have gone to the law courts to seek justice.”

Meanwhile the two assembly members say they still stand by their comments.

Speaking to Citi News, One of the assembly members, Philip Addae stated that“what we said was practical thing, there was nothing wrong with it. He can’t threaten us,” he insisted

He also confirmed that they had received the writ and were in talking terms with their lawyer to respond within the 8 working days.
